IK Multimedia, makers of the fantastic iRig 2 guitar interface for Android, has announced that they have brought their GrooveMaker 2 app to Android as well. GrooveMaker 2 is a DJ app that will let “Android smartphone and tablet users make non-stop electronic dance mixes in real-time and sound like a professional DJ.”
GrooveMaker 2 will run on any device that is running Android 4.1 or higher, making it available to the majority of Android users today. GrooveMaker 2 “lets users manipulate pre-arranged sets of loops in real time – just like a DJ or live electronic music performer – thanks to its patented “groove generator” technology. These loops have been created to always sound good together, and they encompass virtually every style and sound imaginable.” If you’re a DJ or an aspiring DJ that loves Android, this is a great app that will let you run your mixes right off your smartphone or tablet.
GrooveMaker has been out on iOS for a while, but now it’s on Android and better than ever. GrooveMaker 2 gives you packs of loops that are organized together as song packs. There’s just about every style you can think of: house, dubstep, hip-hop, techno, trance, electro, drum and bass, reggae, reggaeton, rock, and a whole lot more. There are some signature song packs from specific artists as well, artists like Ace from Skunk Anansie, Chris Domingo and Cool & Dre, with more to come. Each of the songs has over 60 loops in categories like basslines, pads, effects, kick drums, and percussion. There’s even more than that, and the app will let you import your own sounds from your music library to create mixes that are specifically yours.
GrooveMaker 2 makes it easy to sound like a pro DJ, and you can do it all from your Android device. The app is available on the Google Play Store for $9.99. There’s a free version that will let you check out the features and play with the app before purchasing it, if you’d prefer to do that instead.
