Google released Android 5.0 Lollipop that comes with an enhanced User Interface with a new Material Design. This great design comes with some great color shapes and animations and we have to admit that the new MD is looking way better than the old one.
The bad thing is that even applications such as Pushbullet, PlayStore, Gmail or Google Maps have been updated to the new Material Design, but other applications which we use daily have not yet been updated with a new material design. One of the most used applications is WhatsApp and as you already know, the developers didn’t update its Material Design until now.
Without any doubt, WhatsApp’s developers have added a bunch of new features in the past few months, but they didn’t work on bringing a new Material Design to this application. However, if you want to have an improved Material Design to your WhatsApp application, then you should know that there is a WhatsApp application out there that comes with a great Material Design.
This new application is called WhatsAppMD and has been created by some independent developers. The mastermind behind this application is Joaquin Cuitiño and along with other developers, he worked real hard on bringing a WhatsApp version with a new Material Design. The application looks pretty awesome and we suggest you to give it a try.

Installing WhatsAppMD on your Android device
In order to install this customized application on your device, firstly you will have to install the official WhatsApp application from the Google Play Store, verify your phone number and activate your account on it. After that, you will uninstall the official WhatsApp application and download WhatsAppMD from the internet.
Search for WhatsAppMD on Google, but keep in mind that there are two variants: one comes with stock emoticons and the one is packed with Google’s emojis. After you download the application to your device, enable the “Unknown Sources” from your device Settings->Security.
After that, you will install the “unofficial” application. As soon as you have Unknown Sources enabled, you can install and start using WhatsAppMD. You will notice that the application not only comes with a new Material Design, but it also has a bunch of new emoticons.
Keep in mind that WhatsAppMD is a modified application and this means that there is a risk for you to get banned, but for now this application is pretty safe to use.
