2014’s sleekest Android phone finally starts getting Lollipop

HTC One M8 Lollipop Update

It might not have been the best-selling Android phone of 2014, but there’s little room to argue that the HTC One M8 isn’t the best-looking Android phone of 2014. And now, on the dawn of the HTC One M9’s debut, last year’s flagship smartphone is finally starting to receive its Android 5.0 Lollipop update in the United States.
As noted on Tuesday morning by Android Central, the HTC One M8 is finally starting to get updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop in the U.S., and T-Mobile is now the second network to begin rolling out the update. The 630MB update is being delivered to handsets as an over the air (OTA) update, and it brings with it all of the great new features Google added to Lollipop.
The new update also includes the latest version of HTC’s Sense interface, and all of the enhancements that come with it.
HTC missed its initial timeline target for its Android 5.0 Lollipop rollout but as is always the case, users will forget all about that once the update finally hits their devices. And with T-Mobile now taken care of and Sprint having started rolling out Android 5.0 a few days ago, there are only two more major carriers in the U.S. to go.
Users will be informed when the update is ready for their handsets via a notification on their devices. If you would rather not wait, you can manually check for the update from within the About section in Settings.
