Samsung Galaxy S6 could be the fastest Android phone ever

Samsung is expected to announce Galaxy S6, its next flagship Android phone, in early March. But the details of the phone have started coming in. It is rumoured that the phone will be powered by Samsung's own next-generation Exynos processor and not by Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips. This processor is likely to be Exynos 7420.
The performance figures for the Exynos 7420 have been leaked through the GeekBench, an app that measures how fast a processor can theoretically make calculations. If the leak is genuine, the numbers reveal that the Galaxy S6 could be the fastest Android phone ever, at least on paper.
According to the leaked benchmarks, the Exynos 7420 scores 1520 points in the single-thread workload in GeekBench 3. The single thread performance is very important because it determines the overall performance of the phone, especially in user interface smoothness. In the multi-thread workload, the Exynos 7420 scores 5478 points.
If these numbers hold up, the Galaxy S6 will be almost as fast as the iPhone 6 in the single-thread workload. The Nvidia Tegra K1 processor used in the HTC Nexus 9 tablet is slightly faster but we are yet to see it in a phone.
In multi-thread workload, according to the leaked numbers, the Galaxy S6 could be the fastest device we have seen in GeekBench 3 till now. For reference, iPhone 6 scores around 3000 points in this score while the Nexus 9 scores around 3500 points.
The Exynos 7420 is an 8-core processor with speed of up to 1.5GHz. It will have Mali T760 graphics chip.
According to the leaked benchmark, the Galaxy S6 will have 3GB RAM.
