Motorola Moto G (1st and 2nd gen) to start getting Android 5.0 Lollipop update in India

Motorola has announced that the Moto G smartphones (both first and second generation) will start getting the Android Lollipop update.
The company put out the following tweet. The update comes nearly one months after Moto X (2nd gen) in India got the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

While the update should be an Over-The-Air (OTA) one, users can also manually check their phone for updates. For checking out if your smartphone has received the software update, you can got to: Settings > About Phone > System Update. If it says ‘Your system is up to date’, then we suggest you try in some time.
Android 5.0 Lollipop update bought some special features for the Moto X (2nd gen) and it remains to be seen whether they will come to Moto G as well. The Moto G (2nd Gen) is available on Flipkart for Rs 12,999 and is also has an exchange offer which ends today on Moto G 2nd gen and Moto X 2nd gen.
As far as Android L update is concerned, some of the features are as follows:

Material Design which will offer a consistent design experience across all Android devices. Material Design ensures that elements can dynamically shrink and expand, there’s more white space between elements, and gives a 3D appearance overall.

Lollipop makes it easier to support features like burst mode and fine settings tuning. You’ll be able to capture full resolution frames around 30fps, and shoot in raw formats like YUV and Bayer RAW.

A new battery-saver feature that extends the life of your device by up to 90 minutes—helpful if you’re far from a power outlet. It’s also easier to manage your power usage. The OS adds a feature which gives the estimated time left before you need to charge and, when it’s charging, it tells you approximately how much time it will need to charge before it’s ready to go.
